NEW Super Stylish Square Wood-fired Hydro Tubs

Difference between hydrotherapy and hydro-massage

There are lots of different techniques and treatments that can be classed as 'hydrotherapy'. Most people probably understand hydrotherapy to be where you have access to a swimming pool, whirlpools, hot tub and a sauna. A medical practitioner, on the other hand, is more likely to describe and prescribe hydrotherapy as a course of treatment, with movements and exercises in water tailored to an individual's needs.

But whatever your understanding of "hydrotherapy" is, there is a lot less confusion about "hydro massage".

Simply put, a hydro massage combines heat and water jets to ease tension in the body. The combination of pressure and warm water is used to massage the muscles and soft tissue and stimulate the circulation. It has been scientifically proven to help alleviate muscle and joint pain, as well as some other medical conditions. Along with the buoyancy of the water, the warm jets can also relieve pressure on the joints. A good session of hydro massage can be fun, relaxing and really make you feel great!

Burford Hydro Tubs

If you already own a hot tub then you are probably thinking "Why is Nicola telling us something we already know?" Fair enough. But now that I've cleared up the definitions and benefits of hydrotherapy and hydro massage, I'll get to the point - because I know you're all itching to know where this is heading.

You may remember that last year, purely because of manufacturing delays, some of our Burford Deluxe orders were delayed. However, we managed to do a bit of negotiating on behalf of our customers and eventually sourced a truck load of newly designed Burford Hydro tubs.

Air & Hydro Massage System

The Burford Hydro models were of the same high specifications as the Deluxe, but with the added bonus of having a state-of-the-art combined Air & Hydro massage system.

Our waiting customers were offered first refusal on the new tubs and upgraded their orders to the Burford Hydro.

"Enjoyed an hour in the tub and was surprised at just how relaxed I was. I wasn’t expecting that, so really impressed. The hydro massage worked amazing on my muscles and stiffness." AM (Brittany)

Two New Square Hydro Models Now Available

Feedback on the hydro tub from Cotswold Eco Tubs' customers in the U.K. and our customers in France was so good that there are now two more hydro models available. They've been on sale for a few months, but now we have seen the reviews and examined the quality, we're happy to be able to add them to our range. Ladies and Gentleman may I introduce you to the Kingham 5-seater and the Moreton 7+ seater hydro tubs.

We're still waiting for the brochures, but have managed to grab a few photos of the two square wood-fired tubs, as well as a demo model for Hot Tubs H.Q. (keep reading to find out more..).

Hydro vs Air

Both models are unique to Hot Tubs in France - you cannot buy tubs like these from anywhere else in France. We'll be the first to agree that the new Kingham and Moreton square tubs may not appeal to everybody. Personally, I think there is something very comfortable, homely and rustic about the round, Nordic-style Burford Deluxe. But we want to extend our range so we have something for everyone. The new stylish square hydros are also wood-fired which keeps the heating costs way below those of a similar size electric version. Also the different size, colour options and shape will definitely appeal to anyone who prefers square over the round tub. I must admit that the silver interior does look luxuriously opulent!

They are heavier tubs though, which may mean extra manpower. I've got Tim on the case and he'll be able to provide more details for anyone interested in the Kingham or Moreton.

Personalise your Hydro

As with all Cotswold Eco Tubs the insulated lid is now supplied as standard, and you can choose your own colours for the interior and exterior.

The Hydro's Soft Powerful Massage

So that you have all the information you need to decide whether a Hydro tub is right for you, I just want to point out a couple of differences between the hydro models (Kingham and Moreton) and our 'air' tubs (the best selling Burford Deluxe, Glyme and Winchcombe).

Because the adjustable water jets use air and water to deliver a soft, powerful massage, it means that some water could be present in the jets even when the tub is not in use, so extra care needs to be taken. Also, to reduce the chance of bacteria build up in the jets we recommend using a chemical treatment to keep the water safer and cleaner for longer. That's not to say that you can't use a non-chemical treatment. However, if you do then the water would still need to be emptied more often.

If and when the tub is not in use, you must ensure it is completely emptied, and not left to stand for any length of time. This is especially important in the colder months, because if the temperature drops below freezing and there is any water still in the jets, then it can freeze and cause irreparable damage to your tub.

Filtration Systems

The other difference between Hydro tubs and Air tubs is that the hydro have an inbuilt filtration system. This clarifies the water by separating elements and removing debris, getting the water as pure as possible. So, on the one hand, it means less work for you - emptying, cleaning and refilling - because the system will clean the water. But it does mean you need to disinfect the water with chemicals.

It also means that you have to have the tub plugged into the electric for the filtration system to function properly. As well as the electric the system needs filters - paper, sand or foam balls. However, we know the filtration system is popular with lots of people who don't want to refresh the water on a regular basis. Although it's built in, running the filtration system is still optional and the tubs will function perfectly well without it. And at the end of the day, when you weigh everything up, it probably evens itself out regarding time, effort and cost.

What's Included

Once we get all the full documentation for the new Hydros we will add this to our website. But for now you can view and/or download the high-level specification by clicking on the link below.
