Anyone that knows me well will know how much I adore animals, which is why I get so upset whenever I hear about animals being badly treated, abused or abandoned. The tiny kitten above is our cat Benny on the day he was rescued. Benny and his sister Bea were only a couple of days old, and had barely opened their eyes when they were cruelly dumped in a garage and left to die.
An angel was watching over them that day though. Their tiny cries alerted a passer-by who took them to the Chats de Chatillon refuge near Parthenay, run by another angel, Judy Lewis, and her husband Alan. For years they have worked tirelessly, 24/7 purely for the love of cats and the desire to help as many as possible find a loving forever home. So to celebrate National Cat Day on 29th October we are going to be supporting their non-profit association again this year, to help them continue their amazing work saving the lives of abandoned, injured and ill-treated cats and kittens.
Donations
For every tub ordered between now and Christmas Day we will donate 15€ to the Chats de Chatillon refuge. Hopefully this will go some way towards paying the refuge's monthly vet's bill, or buying food and cat litter for all those waiting to be adopted.
3 ways to celebrate
This cute little trio have got the right idea - a summer's day snooze on the hot tub steps. It'd be lovely if all kittens had such a great start in life. With your help maybe some can. If you'd like to join us in celebrating National Cat Day then, coincidentally, I have come up with three things you could do.
Donate some much needed funds to a local cat charity or help to organise a fund-raising event.
Volunteer some time to help out at a local cat refuge. There are so many daily tasks to be done I'm sure they would appreciate any time you could spare them. And who knows, you might even meet your purr-fect companion while you're there.
If you already have a cat why not bake some tasty home-made cat treats to show how much you care?
I don't know about you, but I think some of those cat treats sound good enough for humans to eat!
Hot tub deliveries
Back to business then and a few photos from our most recent deliveries. Every hot tub we install makes me smile when we see how happy the new owners are and how keen they are to get the wood-burner fired up - sometimes even before Tim has finished setting it up! I think there are some tiny hot tub fairies at work (like in the Elves and the Shoemaker story), because a little pile of kindle and a few dry logs suddenly appear close to where the new hot tub is being installed.

I must admit I really think that the dark wood and grey interior of the two-person Glyme tub is perfect displayed against the natural stone background. The whole property was beautifully renovated and the owners have created an amazing home in this wonderful old mill in the Charente countryside.

Getting into the festive spirit
Last year we had such a great time at the Lessac Christmas market that we've decided to do it all again this year. We'll be there on Sunday 27th November with lots of artisans and creative craftspeople selling their wonderful products. It's a great fun atmosphere and would get even the grumpiest Scrooge in a festive mood. We'll be there all day exhibiting the Burford Deluxe eco-tub, answering questions and offering advice on how to get the best bathing experiences from your very own heavenly hot tub.
